Want a no bake treat for those holidays where you want to dress up a cookie, but it needs to be simple? Let’s try some chocolate covered Oreos!
It only takes a few ingredients to make and decorate these cute cookies:
Oreo cookies (not double stuf), candy melts in whatever color you choose, plastic cookie mold. You can purchase the items at any craft store, but here is a link for Amazon to purchase all the supplies. Affiliate Policy HERE
For melting in microwave: In a glass bowl, add one bag of “melty’s”. Microwave on high for one minute. Stir with rubber scraper. Heat on high an additional minute. Stir. Continue heating additional 30 second intervals until melted. Do not overcook. Do not add water.
For stovetop double broiler: Add small amount of water to bottom of double broiler (approximately one inch). Heat one bag of “melty’s” on low until melted. Do not overcook. Do not add water.
Put in freezer for 5 minutes. You will notice the center is dull in appearance when the cookie has completely cooled.
Gently turn over mold and place cookies on drying rack to decorate. If you add melted chocolate stripes or circles, melt your “melty’s” in a glass container. Let cool slightly before adding to your candy bottle. Decorate as you wish! I bought store bought candy flowers and sprinkles for mine.
The possibilities are endless!
I added a cookie to a clear treat bag and decorated with ribbon to be included in a “Fireworks” bag that I am sharing with you on Saturday!
Give it a try! Serving size is one cookie. These are very rich! Enjoy!
