I wanted some cute homemade fabric carrots for my Spring decorations several years ago.
My Mom had some plain orange fabric and I had some green ribbon and she set up the sewing machine to create these carrots.

What you will need:
Sewing machine or Iron on Tape
Scissors or Rotary Cutter
Various green color of ribbon for stem / leaves

Step 1

Choose your fabrics. Don’t be afraid to use patterns in your fabric! The end result will be colorful in your display.
Step 2
Cut your fabric into strips using 1/3 yard of fabric.
Cut strips into 18″ length by 11″ wide.
Cut fabric in half lengthwise.

Step 3
Place fabric rights ides together.

Step 4
Using a straight edge, mark your seam 5/8 inch from right and left edges and 3inches from bottom corner.

Step 5
Sew right sides together on right and left edges.
Do not sew top so you can stuff with filling later.

Step 6
Turn the carrot inside out.

Step 7
Stuff carrot with filling.
Tie top of carrot with several pieces of ribbon.
I used 3 pieces of ribbon and tied at various sides at top to make the “leaves / stem” fuller.

I used various fabrics and several different green ribbons I had on hand. They are so fun to decorate with!
